Co-Founder / Backend AI & Web Developer

Note this is an unpaid job.

The Role:

We're looking for a Backend AI & Web Developer (Co-Founder) to join our small, expert team. You'll help build the backend and AI systems driving Ignite-AI, working hands-on with cutting-edge tech and shaping the product beyond the MVP.

What You'll Do:
  • Build and maintain backend systems using Python (Django)
  • Integrate AI and LLM workflows with HuggingFace, PyTorch, LangChain, LangGraph, etc.
  • Design APIs and connect backend services with React frontends
  • Work in Linux or WSL environments
  • Bring creative flow and vibe coding to a collaborative, high-energy team

What We're Looking For:
  • Vibe coding skill is a must — be ready to show your fluency during the interview!
  • Knowledge of combustion physics is required, or at minimum, an engineering background.

Other merits:

  • 1-3 years of experience in backend or AI web development.
  • Strong Python/Django and API skills.
  • Experience with modern AI frameworks (Hugging Face, PyTorch, LangChain, LangGraph).
  • Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS/React/MongoDB.

You'll play a key role in identifying potential customers (consulting firms, research institutes, OEMs), conducting interviews, testing pricing levels, and helping us understand how the industry perceives value. This is an opportunity to work closely with our founding team, gain exposure to technical SaaS commercialization, and make a real impact on how deep-tech products enter the market.

What You'll Do:
  • Research and map potential customer segments (consultants, R&D teams, universities, emission testing labs)
  • Reach out to relevant companies and conduct structured interviews to collect feedback
  • Analyze workflows, pain points, and willingness-to-pay for combustion modeling tools
  • Benchmark existing software tools
  • Develop a short report summarizing market needs, pricing insights, and go-to-market opportunities

What We’re Looking For:
